A TRULY GREAT MAN |
March 2, 2012 |

Oz, words cannot express your loss. we met once a week, every week at the same spot in London for 6 years. we sat, we plotted our careers, we strategised how to make a difference in the financial sector in Nigeria. you blazed the trail and the "Bar Bourse Mafia" followed in your wake.
Thomas Carlyle said " No great man lives in vain. The history of the world is but the biography of great men". Osaze, you were an intensely loyal friend and a dedicated colleague who touched the lives of many. Alas, you are now gone but our shared dreams live on.
Indeed, you were a truly GREAT MAN who changed my life and will definitely be missed by many.
Adieu my friend.....

A Time For Introspection... |

A Time For Introspection… (Osaze Osifo: 1967-2012)
Death is no more than passing from one room into another. Ozzy (aka Mr. Boateng), it is easier to process your death in those terms, to believe that you really have only just stepped into the room next door. The truth is that it is much more difficult to comprehend that we will not be seeing you, laughing with you, sharing those moments that enriched our lives with your unique brand of friendship and brotherhood. You lived a life that was practically bursting at the seams with energy, verve, a rare breed of sportsmanship and a great love for life itself.
Life is not measured by the breath we take; it is measured by what takes our breath away, for those of us whose breath you took away, I can only say that in spite of our great loss, for those of us who knew you, it was and will continue to be a deeply gratifying experience. Thank you for sharing yourself and your life so generously.
Ozzy, no love, no friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever… You have indeed left your mark in the “Sands of Time”… It was indeed an Honour knowing you Sir!

Gone Far Too Soon |
March 2, 2012 |
Gone far too soon, Osaze.
You always seemed to be years ahead of what one would expect. My memories of you go back to when we were children, including your visits to Nigeria before you moved back as a family, you sitting on the floor somewhere always quietly reading 'heavy' material like 'Readers Digest' as some of us (your egbons for that matter), ran around playing. You were indeed years ahead...almost as if you knew your time here would be relatively short, what you accomplished, most who are here much longer do not come close to accomplishing.
My heart goes out to Ibukun and your young family, Aunty, Uncle, Egbe and Enoma.
May you rest in God's bosom. Amen

My Boss and Personal Champion! |

"Welcome to my world" used to be your favourite phrase to me. and when I answered 'hey, maybe i don't want to be part of this stress, you said "C'mon it's fun!! I became a part of that world, and indeed it was fun. You drove us all hard and drove yourself even harder! You wanted and expected us all to be excellent.
It was never too late or too early for you to send an email and I came to expect them from you. Your question to me after one such email exchange was "When do you sleep?". I guess I caught your bug. And you gave me a voice. You fought in my corner.
You are a bright light that burnt out too soon but your legacy will live on.
God rest you, my Boss, Friend and Motivator!
