You were a great mentor and a caring boss. You believed in me and made a difference in my life. My heart is heavy but may God give us the strength to bear this loss. Ibukun, God is with you and the family.
You knew how to give meaning to the words 'thank you', I am only sad now that I would never have the opportunity to say the same words to you face to face.
I thank the Lord for you Boss and if I am really not too late, THANK YOU!
RIP.
My memories of you began in the mid-eighties at the Mechanical Engineering faculty in Unilag where you struck me as jovial but very focused. You and Tony used to hang out in U317 (Tony's room) which was next to mine. Fast forward a few years to the early nineties when you came to the UK, you stayed for a short while with yet another Tony in our shared house in London as you focused on your Masters.
I followed with admiration your fast rise in HSBC after graduation and saw how your focus and restlessness led you to embark on yet another journey to make a difference in your own country. During our few conversations, your patriotism, optimism and doggedness to be the change everyone desires but few apply themselves to, was evident.
I have always admired you Osaze, for your focus, loyalty and doggedness; an admiration that has spanned several decades.
You have now taken the final journey which we must all take; and though sudden, yet again, unlike some, you were prepared for it. Rest Well.
I will miss you.
