A true loss |
March 5, 2012 |
A true loss. I, personally, feel proud to have known you to the extent that i did. It is just a testament to your charachter, in its selflessness, that you routinely took the time to extend your advice and reach to guide me in the right direction. I sincerely hope that I can honour all that you gave me; not only in wise words but also in your spirit, determination and good nature. We pray that your soul rest in peace and that all those you have left behind will also find their own peace. Amen

We will cherish the memories |

Its very hard to desribe Osazes impact on our family, first he was Tundes friend, intense, exciting and wanting to change the world, then he became a mentor to Feyisayo and a source of inspiration for Faridah. For me, we would sit down and talk about relationships with our spouses and family, he was determined to do his best by Ibukun and he would speak constantly of wanting to get it right with Adesuwa and Ehiose. He wanted to know how he and Ibukun could nurture them to be loving disciplined children and accomplished adults. He was always talking about the future, he had hope. He had a plan for everything and everyone, for his family, for his parents, for his sisters, his friends..he was thoughtful and ambitious, he had energy, intensity and humility. He will be sorely missed.
Rest in peace Osaze, we will cherish the memories.

Inadvertant Inspiration |

Oz, you inadvertently taught me one of the most invaluable traits required in the Nigerian business environment and that is, to have the courage to dare the seemingly impossible and go for what others say cannot be achieved. Without knowing it, you were responsible for the most significant paradigm shift in my career and I never got a chance to thank you for that, so “thank you my friend”, it was a privilege to have known you.

Rest in Perfect Peace my Dear Brother |
March 4, 2012 |
I first met Osaze back in the late 1980’s where we started our Investment Banking careers in the City of London on the trading floor at HSBC. Osaze and I were the only 2 black faces in a sea of white. It didn’t take us long to find each other. When he decided to move back home I remember his enthusiasm and passion. "It was our generation that needed to go back and shake things up. It was our time, and if we didn’t do it, who would?". Anyone who has spent 5 minutes with Osaze will recognize this speech. They will also recognize the person who believes in putting people together, motivating and recruiting young Africans to join the cause of moving our continent forward. They will also recognize the person who loved life, and to enjoy himself and ensured others around him did as well. He was warm, generous and kind.
When I moved to Lagos in late 2007, his house was the first I visited and had dinner in. He threw a big introduction to Lagos party on my behalf. It was a wonderful gesture, and made me and my wife feel so welcome in Nigeria. How many people would do that for you? He made sure I settled in. He invited me and my wife to join his wife’s 40th birthday party in Dubai. He listened when I had some initial problems, he advised me on how best to navigate Lagos. Typical Osaze – practical and forward looking at the same time. He knew the importance of family. He was always kind to my wife and made her always feel welcome.
He achieved a lot in his all too short a life. He was the glue that held a lot of different people from many walks of life together. He was a friend and I will miss him.
RIP my brother. You've earned your rest.

You were proof that to be a true giant has nothing to do with physical size...what an immense mind...what a wonderful human being! May your soul rest in perfect peace, and may the Almighty console those you left behind. Ameen

'Til we meet again |

While it's hard to fathom why death snatches us away in such an untimely fashion, we remember and celebrate Osaze's good life from God, and wonderful memories that cannot be erased. God will continue to watch over Ibukun, the kids, and the Osifo famiies.

Rest in Peace in the Bossom of the Lord |
March 4, 2012 |
To a loving brother-in-law, your sudden departure was a big shock as I was looking forward to our holiday in London with the kids next week.
God knows best for all his decisions about us and may God in his infinite mercy continue to guide and guard your spirit and those of us you left behind.
Till we meet again to part no more.

Every second is a gift but we never realise it until we're saying goodbye to yet another friend.
The Truth is we might not have that second chance to say, "Thank you", "I am sorry", we always think we will have that chance and most times we do but there are always those times that we do not.
The Truth is, life is not just about the plans we make but more importantly the moments we share, and the people in it.
Dearest Osaze, thank you for being my direction, thank you for your truths, thank you for your strength.
May you rest in the company of saints, until we meet again.
Goodnight boss

Legacy |
March 3, 2012 |
Osaze, your life's essence, spirit and depth of compassion will be with us forever.
Our prayers and thoughts are with Ibukun, your wife and your children. I pray that anytime they are tempted to shed a tear because you are gone, God instead turns that into a smile. They deserve to smile always because you were a great great human being and have left a wonderful legacy which we pray will provide snippets of comfort alongside God's grace and succour.
Your life will go on through so many of us, your dear friends, family and professionals you groomed and impacted. I am proud to have had the pleasure of knowing you Osaze.
It is now time to rest brother.
Till we all meet again.
GOD BLESS YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR PRECIOUS MEMORY.
Ugoma and Dayo Adegoke
